Joyous May

I have a feeling I write the same thing every May about how I dread it when our regular boaters set off on their adventures around the waterways network, and then how delighted I feel when an influx of new boaters cruise in for the first time. The delight on their faces combined with their obvious appreciation of their fabulous new surroundings is wonderful to see and reminds us how lucky we are to have such a stunning marina in such a beautiful part of the world, supported by an amazing team..

So from now on, May is joyous!

And it certainly has been so far!

camping and caravanning

We really have got off to a cracking start, the Camping and Caravnning Club Site has fortunately dried out and looks so lush as do the fields and views surrounding it. Weekends are now getting increasingly busy with caravanners and campers. One of our first visitors this year was a lovely couple from New Zealand who had heard about White Mills through Social Media (how amazing is that? Global recognition!) They actually made us their very first port of call after arriving at Heathrow. Hopefully we will see them again before they return home, we wish them safe travels in the meantime.

Our super stretch tent was erected yesterday; it was a real team effort I must admit with several boaters rolling their sleeves up to help us put it up swiftly, safely and most importantly securely. So a huge shout out to them - they know exactly who they are.

And the icing on the cake for May was the opening of ~Number 9 @theboathouse today. Earlier this year we took ownership of a fabulous little horse trailer that had already been converted into a coffee wagon but had never been used and was looking for a new home

We had been thinking for sometime how we could relieve the pressure on the boathouse especially with walkers and cyclists who literally want a quick pit stop, grab something to drink and eat and go again. The excitement amongst the team today was fabulous. Talking of the boathouse, we have invested in some gorgeous new comfy furniture fore the decking which is proving extremely popular , and if that is not impressive enough,t two of our former boaters have returned to white Mills to give the boathouse a face lift. They have been doing a terrific job. and its been lovely to see them both .

Next week there is more good news our new marina manager joins us. Watch out for the next blog when we will formally introduce her to you.

Have a great weekend. I am off to enjoy the joyous May!

Oh Yes! Please don’t forget that the office is now open for the Summer from 8.30am -5.30pm and closed for lunch 1pm-2pm.
