VIP Visit
From Left to right Ben Skinner George Wickham and MP Rt Honorable ` Stuart Andrew
When our local MP Rt Hon. Stuart Andrew said he would like to pay a visit to the marina, we were absolutely delighted to oblige. In fact it turned out to be a really productive visit. Stuart popped in at the farm first which gave us the opportunity to sit down with him and explain all the challenges living on a family run farm present at the moment with all the imminent changes being introduced by Rachel Reeves.. He was a good listener and John even invited him along to one of his regular farmers’ breakfasts at the boathouse which he has readily accepted.
After the farm, It was off to the marina to introduce him to George and again let him hear first hand about the highs and lows of running a river based business and how challenging it can sometimes be working with large Government bodies.
We couldn’t of course let an opportunity like this go by without a ribbon cutting ceremony could we? So we asked Stuart if he would like to cut a ribbon to officially mark the start of the development of our extension to the boathouse which is going to be used as a new boaters community hub. And once again he could not have been more obliging. All in all a good afternoon.
